There are times that I did not even know I was looking at a blog.
For example, I had always liked looking up the site Kotaku for all kinds of gaming and nerd culture articles but I never would have guessed it was a blog. It is highly entertaining to read and they cover all kinds of topics from the point of view of several different authors.
I might reference this site weekly as it provides great information on concepts like esports and gaming in general. The writing style is informal but informational. Additionally, it is written by young writers around our age, which is something that appeals to me.
One blog that I did not find interesting is the TMZ blog. Again, this is not a site that I thought was a blog but after looking at the articles and writing styles, it becomes more apparent. I was never really into gossip and celebrity news as other people, therefore this blog did not interest me much. I do not expect to talk about celebrities much, nor do I hope to incorporate their style neither. I do not find the information fun to talk about, nor is the style proactive in my opinion.
Lastly, The Earth Story blog was one that I saw as a typical blog when I thought of blogs. This is a wonderful site where people share videos and pictures that have to do with science and earth. It is full of wonderful visuals as well as small bits of information pertaining to the picture. This is more of the type of blog I would follow as I am engaged more readily with visuals than any other media. I also love the topics they cover, which, as you would guess, have to do about life on earth. Its media is engaging and the information is concise but to the point.
I am excited to see how these blogs influence my own style.
