Entry #1 Blogging about Blogs

Blogging is a concept, like to many of us, is still new to me. Blogs have always seemed interesting and provided all kinds of information. The can be useful and entertaining for all kinds of audiences- which I do not doubt there is a blog for any person out there.

There are times that I did not even know I was looking at a blog.

For example, I had always liked looking up the site Kotaku for all kinds of gaming and nerd culture articles but I never would have guessed it was a blog. It is highly entertaining to read and they cover all kinds of topics from the point of view of several different authors.
I might reference this site weekly as it provides great information on concepts like esports and gaming in general. The writing style is informal but informational. Additionally,  it is written by young writers around our age, which is something that appeals to me.

One blog that I did not find interesting is the TMZ blog. Again, this is not a site that I thought was a blog but after looking at the articles and writing styles, it becomes more apparent. I was never really into gossip and celebrity news as other people, therefore this blog did not interest me much. I do not expect to talk about celebrities much, nor do I hope to incorporate their style neither. I do not find the information fun to talk about, nor is the style proactive in my opinion.

Lastly, The Earth Story blog was one that I saw as a typical blog when I thought of blogs. This is a wonderful site where people share videos and pictures that have to do with science and earth. It is full of wonderful visuals as well as small bits of information pertaining to the picture. This is more of the type of blog I would follow as I am engaged more readily with visuals than any other media. I also love the topics they cover, which, as you would guess, have to do about life on earth. Its media is engaging and the information is concise but to the point.

I am excited to see how these blogs influence my own style.

Entry #0 Who Am I?

Welcome to my blog, my name is Jose Espinoza. Although I believe I am your average GCC student, I know people live in many different ways. However, there really is not much to say in terms of specialization. Instead, I like to think of myself as a Jack of all trades. My taste in music varies and I find interest in all kinds of activities, from video games to hiking. The idea of e sports interests me as much as real sports, especially since I am going into a computer field, and having less time to play real sports- not that I do not enjoy playing them, they just take more time. I also enjoy the idea of travelling and even though my current life does not allow me do it often a good hike more than suffices.

Not much bothers me in the sense of having pet peeves, which is why I find most people amicable. Meeting new people always seems like a new adventure and the idea of everyone having their own lives who shape who they are interests me. In the time I attend school, and work full time, I try to balance my time for the people around me but of course, I may not always have that time. Although, that does not mean I also do not have times where I like to be alone. I appreciate the times I am able to be alone with my thoughts as much as the times I can socialize with all of the interesting people I meet. As a type of meditation I will ride my motorcycle from time to time just to enjoy the road and be alone with my thoughts.

My goals here at GCC is to obtain an Associate Degree in Networking, with hopes of going on to a University. With ENG101 I will improve my writing abilities and hopefully attain my own writing style. For whoever is willing to read, I am pleased to share my endeavor in reaching those goals, as well as communicate anything else I may learn. Enjoy reading.
